CBDD-24 Meeting

The Biophysical Society-sponsored Computational Biophysics and Drug Design (CBDD-2024) Meeting successfully brought together researchers, students, and academics interested in the intersection of computational biophysics methods and drug discovery. The event featured a series of talks and discussions, focusing on the latest advancements and applications of computational techniques in biophysics and pharmaceutical research.

We have a strong interest in and strive to be actively involved in research-based outreach and public engagement. We are always looking out for new opportunities to participate in a range of activities.

The SOPHia Project

SCIENCE OUTREACH TO PROMOTE PHYSICS

The SOPHia project aims to encourage more students, especially girls, to take up physics as a Leaving Certificate Subject.

There is a three to one ratio of male to female students taking physics at Leaving Certificate level in Ireland. This has a knock-on effect on the numbers of females taking physics at third-level, and ultimately taking up senior roles in academia and industry. Link
